Beeswax
Wax is produced by the metabolic transformation of honey and pollen in the body of some species of bees. In the case of honey bees, the workers produce wax on the 12th to 18th day of their life.
Beeswax is rich in vitamin A, monoesters, diesters, triesters and polyesters. Furthermore, free fatty acids (cerotic, montanic, melissa, neocerotic), hydrocarbons, free alcohols and aromatic substances are also contained. In the cosmetic industry, beeswax has a wide range of uses. It has nourishing, softening and moisturizing effects. It creates a protective layer on the skin’s surface without clogging the pores. Beeswax has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and is thus a suitable helper in the fight against acne and various manifestations of allergies. And it is one of the best natural emulsifiers, stabilizers and thickeners.
