Colloidal silver

Silver and various silver compounds can provide an oligodynamic effect that is toxic to microorganisms. This metal’s biocidal activity is dependent on silver ions (Ag+), which can irreversibly damage key enzyme and protein systems in the cell membrane of pathogens.
