Garden cress
Cress is a generous source of vitamins C, B, E and K, beta carotene and minerals, the most abundant of which are potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, potassium and iodine. The content of fiber and essential amino acids is also significant.
Cress is a rich source of nutrients, especially sulforaphane molecules, and helps to detoxify skin cells from harmful external factors such as smoke, emissions and smog. It also affects the activity of enzymes that initiate reactions in cells that turn harmful molecules into a water-soluble form that can be eliminated by the body. This increases the resistance of cells and limits the manifestations of aging and DNA damage due to a polluted environment.
Cress has disinfectant effects that make it suitable for oily skin prone to acne.
Did you know that…
Cress has more vitamin C than an orange, more calcium than milk and more iron than spinach.
