Honey
Honey is rich in minerals such as potassium, phosphorus, sulfur, chlorine, calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron, copper, manganese, vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, C and enzymes. It also contains flavonoids, which act against free radicals, as well as all 20 essential amino acids. The most represented are alanine, arginine, serine, proline and glycine. It also contains fructose, glucose and melecitose.
It is not surprising that it was already used as a medicine in ancient times, and especially in ancient China and Egypt. However, when it comes to cosmetic use, honey cleans, nourishes the skin and contributes to the regulation of the slightly acidic pH value of the upper protective layer of the skin. Honey regenerates dry and cracked skin, helps remove dead cells and also helps to delay the aging process of the skin. It is antibacterial and antifungal.
Did you know that...
Like other bee products, honey is not vegan.
